Traveling Palette™ Art Workshops
This is a hands-on workshop dedicated to drawing and painting the head in the classical tradition from a live model.
It is recommended that new beginners spend more time drawing at this workshop.
Nothing is as important in art as painting from life.Whether it is a still life, landscape, or figure, the ability of the artist to translate what they see in front of them into a compelling painting for the viewer is their primary objective.
Join us this October for a workshop that will enliven your senses in art. It promises to be challenging and rewarding. It will send you on a new journey in world of drawing and painting.

The Portrait Workshop will concentrate on:
Principles on constructing the head - covering proportion, values, and composition
Techniques for developing a likeness will be discussed and demonstrated
Portions of anatomy and the problems they present in drawing and painting
Exercises in color and color mixing
Various techniques of developing warm and cool flesh tones
Special discussion on planning the portrait
We will also examine how light falls on the structure of the head and how various backgrounds lend to the effectiveness of the painting.
