Cooking Lessons

COOKING LESSONS - 1 to 5 days available in Amalfi and Tuscany.  Take part in an exciting and personal sojourn of culinary and cultural experiences.  We'll assist Your group of 8-12 in designing its own unique itinerary and dates to travel.  We'll make suggestions and you'll decide.  (It is not necessary to attend the Art Workshops on this site)

The best reason to travel and be with the people you love is to Celebrate LIFE!  And that's what Italy is all about.

We believe in a relaxed pace with time to savor each day.  You'll enjoy the best and most authentic experience you can have.  We love to join in with the local people at the market or special feast days. Test the regional foods and soak in the essence of Italian history, arts, and culture.

TUSCAN HILLS  Val d'Orcia is home to classic hill towns.  You'll be mesmerized by the fields of endless vineyards and olive groves, and the winding lanes bordered by tall, proud cypress trees. 

We'll cook and feast on this region's traditional grilled meats, "pici", a hand rolled pasta unique to Tuscany, and the hearty soup ribollita.  Spend the morning at the local outdoor market selecting produce and ingredients to cook.  Of course, it's all enjoyed with the world renowned wines of Tuscany.

Your Itinerary in Tuscany can look like this.......
.  7 nights 8 days at a restored Papal Villa;  Rooms all have private baths.
.  Breakfast each morning; 4 lunches and 4 dinners provided.
.  2 days of exciting cooking lessons; lunches served with local wines;
.  1 day tasting olive oils and touring a "state-of-the-art" winery topped off with an exciting wine-paired luncheon in
    medieval castello.
.  Excursions to San Quirico d'Orcia, Pienza and other ancient hilltowns. 
.  Transportation to program sites by private car.

Traveling Palette™ Workshop participants (artists and non-painting guests) may arrange for any number of days to attend a cooking lesson in Amalfi or Tuscany.  We'll make all the arrangements.

AMALFI COAST  Imagine breathtaking views, hidden treasures, the rugged seacoast and sophisticated living of this World Heritage Site.

We'll learn to make regional delights at the home of one of the region's most revered cooks. She'll lead us in preparing seasonal dishes such as stuffed zucchini blossoms, lemon risotto, fresh seafood and savory antipasti.  Enjoy an al fresco luncheon in her beautiful garden, under lemon groves and bougainvillea, sipping wines harvested from the vines growing on the steep cliffs tumbling to the sea.

Your Itinerary in Amalfi can look like this.......
.  7 nights 8 days at a charming seaside hotel each room with a seaview; sunbathing terrace.  Rooms all have private baths.
.  Breakfast each morning; 4 lunches and 4 dinners provided.
.  3 days of exciting cooking lessons in a private home in Ravello, followed by sumptuous al fresco lunches on the terrace, served with wines from our hosts vineyards.
.  Excursions to Positano, Capri, Ravello.  Each of these locations are unique for their own cultural and natural beauty.
.  Transportation to program sites by private car or ferry boats.

Artists and guests attending Art Workshops in either location may book, in advance, any number of days while attending the Workshop, or as an extension to the week's schedule.

Mary Ann D'Ambruoso will oversee the week's activities and share her hospitality experiences, including may years behind the stove!   Mary Ann has traveled throughout Italy these past 10 years with her husband Sam's art workshops and loves to encourage guests in their personal discovery of this most exciting country.
